Contributed by Seline Ng, CSIRO, Australia.

We are excited to announce the upcoming MODSIM 2019 conference session “Advances and Applications in Hydrometeorological Forecasting”.

Join us for an enjoyable time of stimulating discussions and interesting talks!

We look forward to contributions from HEPEX-ers relating to any of the following: (i) improved methods in the field of hydrometeorological forecasting, (ii) post-processing of forecasts, (iii) verification of forecasts, (iv) real-time flood forecasting, (v) practical and theoretical applications of forecasts in water management, hydropower generation, and agriculture. We also welcome contributions on other relevant topics not mentioned above.

MODSIM is a biennial event organised by the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand Inc. (MSSANZ), and is a highly-anticipated event among computational hydrologists and hydrometeorologists in the region. MODSIM 2019 will be held in Canberra from 1 to 6 December 2019. The theme this year is “Supporting evidence-based decision making: the role of modelling and simulation”. See http://www.mssanz.org.au/modsim2019/index.html for more details.

The system will open for submission of extended abstracts or full papers on 1 March 2019. All submissions are due by 31 July 2019. To submit to our session, check the “Water Resources” stream, and for the organisers Tze Ling (Seline) Ng (CSIRO), Céline Cattoën-Gilbert (NIWA), David Robertson (CSIRO), James Bennett (CSIRO), Q. J. Wang (University of Melbourne), Mark Thyer (University of Adelaide).

Hope to see many of you this December in Canberra!
